The Third annual Silicon Valley Tour de Coop

The Third annual Silicon Valley Tour de Coop, a free, self-guided bicycle tour of chicken coops, gardens, bee hives, hoop houses, and coolest Silicon Valley urban homesteads, is now happening on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 9AM to 4 PM. http://tourdecoop.org/

The coop tour is certainly open to anyone who has an interest in backyard coops and urban gardens, whether you bike, walk , drive or scooter is fine.

Smaller – Neighborhood Routes – These routes are specifically designed to be shorter and more family friendly in terms of the routes selected:

REDWOOD CITY COOP LOOP– 4 coops – 5.5 miles – Starts at the Redwood City Cal Train station for those wishing to train-bike-cooptour!

SAN JOSE ROSE GARDEN COOP LOOP – 5 Coops , 5 Miles- Starts at Middlebrook Center with helpful coop tour planners. Epic Coffee will be serving pour over coffee, sustainably grown from Guatemala to kick off tours starting at Middlebrook from 9am – 10:30 AM to help get you started on your tour!

WILLOW COOP LOOP – 3 coops – 6.0 Miles – includes riding on the unpaved 3 forks trail that cross much of Willow Glen.

San Jose Wllow Glen & Rose Garden combined loop – 12 Miles, 8 coops. Starts at Middlebrook center. Epic Coffee will be serving pour over coffee, sustainably grown from Guatemala to kick off tours starting at Middlebrook from 9am – 10:30 AM to help get you started on your tour!

Palo Alto, Lose Altos, LAH, Mountain View and Menlo Park – A mostly flat 15 miles, 6, coops, 2 parks and special hidden bicycle passage ways on this coop tour. You can also experience the Los Altos Hills community farm stand on this ride and get a few hills too.

Just Palo Alto – This 11 mile, 4 Palo Alto coops route is very flat. It starts at the PA California Cal Train station for those wishing to bring their bikes on the train for their coop tour! It explores some the bike features of Palo Alto like the bicycle boulevard and more.

Just Palo Alto & Menlo Park – This 16 mile, 5 Palo Alto and Menlo Park coops route is very flat. It starts at the PA California Cal Train station for those wishing to bring their bikes on the train for their coop tour! It explores some the bike features of Palo Alto and Menlo Park like the bicycle boulevard and more.

Sunnyvale and Mountain View – This 15 mile, 5 coop tour includes the Sunnyvale Full Circle community farm, a 4H program farm, and interesting coop stops with aqua culture and rain harvesting system.

More Serious Cyclist Routes – These longer routes are designed for proficient cyclists who are comfortable riding on longer rides, climbing hills and sharing roads with motorists on expressways. Due to our limited time and resources to design our coop loops, these longer rides may require some navigating on your own if the map or cue sheet is not perfect.

South Bat & Half Century (50M) – Starts at Middlebrook Center. Epic Coffee will be serving pour over coffee, sustainably grown from Guatemala to kick off tours starting at Middlebrook from 9am – 10:30 AM to help get you started on your tour!

SV tour de Coop Century (100 Miles) – Starts in Menlo Park at Burgess Park.
