Professional Photography
Your home has been transformed and now it is time for its photographic debut! An essential element for showcasing your property are photos that display its features, layout, spaciousness, and all of those great things you love about your home that you shared with us early on.
The Dawn Thomas Team works with an incredible photographer who specializes in capturing every home’s ‘best angles.’ We will schedule the photographer and let you know, a few days prior to the appointment, when they will arrive. Depending upon the size of your home, the photo shoot will take about 60 to 90 minutes.
Although you do not need to be present during the photography appointment, there are a few things you should do to make your home look its very best.
- Ensure your home is clean and tidy.
- Hide any pet beds, toys, and litter trays.
- Either crate or take your furry friends to work, a neighbor’s, or surprise them with a trip to the dog park while the photographer is working.
- Make all beds.
- Hang towels in bathrooms.
- Tidy the kitchen and remove extraneous items from counters.
- Fluff couch pillows.
- Quickly vacuum if needed.
- Open all window treatments to let in the light.
- Turn on all lights.
The photographer will also shoot your yards so make sure lawns are freshly mowed, walk and entryways are swept, and everything looks neat and inviting.
Images of key areas in the neighborhood or community will also be taken, including nearby parks, potential views, or building amenities including on-site fitness centers, clubhouses, and pools.
Depending upon the property, we may also do drone photography, which will give an aerial view of your home and the surrounding area. Drone videos are ideal for larger homes with sizeable lots that can’t be captured quite as easily in still images. Click here for an example of one of our drone videos.
These images will be used on the MLS as well as a myriad of other online real estate sites and in print marketing. It generally takes 24 to 48 hours for the photos (and video if applicable) to be edited and sent to us. This is one of the final steps before your property officially goes on the market.
The last step is to get the excitement building about your home before it goes live on MLS.
