Since 1980, Watercourse Way in Palo Alto has been providing weary Silicon Valley residents with a Zen spa experience. Open seven days a week, the bathhouse & spa located in the heart of downtown Palo Alto was designed after Carmel Valley’s Tassajara natural hot springs.
The award-winning Watercourse Way experience centers on relaxation, rejuvenation, and serenity in a private, exclusive setting. The décor has a distinct Asian flair, accentuating its Zen-like atmosphere. Services include massage, skin care and spa treatments, hot tubs, saunas, and cold plunge pools.
Rather than communal dressing areas and hot tubs, there are instead there are eight serene spaces with private hot tubs that encourage spa-goers to decompress and unwind.
The secluded hot tub room amenities include shower, resting area, and hot tub with some also offering saunas and cold plunge pools. Every room is luxuriously decorated with elegant tile work, murals and art pieces, and woodwork to further enhance tranquility and relaxation.

Deep tissue, prenatal, hot stone and couples massages are available and can be enhanced by adding one or more of the following:
- Essential oil inhalation
- Warm towel wraps for face and feet
- Warm stones on neck and shoulders
- Aromatherapy oils
Special natural element spa treatments designed to “relax, cleanse, beautify, and rejuvenate” include the herbal mud wrap, serene seaweed treatment, and the Ayurvedic hot oil treatment.
Watercourse Way also offers an extensive line of skin care services for both men and women. There are facials for every skin type, with each including a hand, neck, and foot massage. The extensive line of facials include:
