Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA)

The mission of the Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) is to inspire excellence through art and music education for people of all ages and abilities.

At CSMA we believe that all children, regardless of resources, deserve an education that values the diversity of talent, the human imagination and the exploratory process necessary for innovation. Every day we see the power of the arts to inspire children to discover their passions and become fully engaged in the world around them.

Every one of CSMA’s programs provides the opportunity for meaningful engagement in the arts to children who would otherwise have no access. Full and partial subsidies for our school programs, financial aid and merit scholarships permit us to extend our reach and support more students in artistic endeavors. Our free community concerts in Tateuchi Hall and art exhibitions in Mohr Gallery draw families and individuals from across the Bay Area.
