Mom has already been pampered and, with Father’s Day right around the corner, now it is Dad’s turn to feel extra-special. So we’ve compiled a list of 6 of our favorite ways to spend time with the father figure in our lives and show him just what he means to us.

Help Dad improve his swing by booking a tee time at one of the many surrounding courses. San Jose Municipal is a local favorite with a moderately difficult course, patio bar and grill, and weekend summer concert series. The par-68 course at Los Lagos Golf Course, on the other hand, offers a competitive mix of nine par-three, four par-four, and five par-five holes in addition to a clubhouse, restaurant, putting green, and two-tiered, lighted driving range with 42 stalls.

While Dad may not be a brewmaster, he might just enjoy a well-timed pint here and there. If that’s the case, Silicon Valley and surrounding areas have got you covered.
For the tried-and-true fans, Fieldwork Brewing Company was founded in 2014 and has been offering visitors an ever-changing tap list of fresh releases since. This craft brewery focuses on honest and exceptional beer-making that can be enjoyed by the glass or sampler flight.
For those wanting to try something new, Out of the Barrel in downtown Los Gatos was just opened in the spring of this year. They feature a rotating selection of independent craft beers, cider and more.

Hit a Home Run

Men and sports typically go hand-in-hand so it’s not a stretch to imagine that dear ol’ Dad might just enjoy cheering on a favorite team on his special day. Luckily for baseball fans, the San Francisco Giants will be at home taking on the Philadelphia Phillies. This three-game series will begin Friday, June 18 and run through Sunday, June 20. On the last day, the first 9,000 fans will receive a Father’s Day “Dad Hat” presented by Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream.

Give Dad the gift of relaxation and the possibility of a great catch by taking him fishing. Open daily at sunrise, Capitola Wharf is a free fishing pier located over picture-perfect Monterey Bay. The four areas that anglers target include the inshore surf for surfperch, just past the breakers for stripers and halibut, under the pier for perch and other kelp or rock species, and the water at the end for a variety of species. Conveniently located, guests will have easy access to Capitola Boat & Bait for gear and Wharf House Restaurant for leisurely meals with ocean view tables.
