Campbell Farmers Market

Every Sunday rain or shine, the streets of downtown Campbell are transformed into a bustling food festival as local farmers, bakers, crafters, and creators line the streets to sell their wares. Ask just about anyone: the Campbell Farmers Market is far and away one of the South Bay’s (and maybe even the Bay Area’s) best.

Local small farmers from Watsonville, Hollister, Monterey, and the Central Valley set up shop along East Campbell Avenue displaying a colorful array of just-picked produce, seasonal fruits, and gorgeous fresh flowers. Food purveyors offer up honey and hummus, luscious jams and spices, puckery kimchi, delicately sweetened kettle corn, and tart sauerkraut alongside organic meats, cheeses, milk, and eggs. Artisan bakeries will tantalize your taste buds with breads and baked goods, a number of which are gluten free. Prepared meals and dishes are also available, served up by various food stands and food trucks. Indian, Mediterranean, Mexican, French, you name it and odds are, you can find it at the Campbell Farmers Market.

The reasons to purchase from a farmers market are many: it builds a sense of community, supports small local farmers and food producers, and offers sustainable, top quality farm-to-table foods that are certified organic. Many vendors will offer up samples for shoppers to try and most but not all, accept credit and debit cards.

At the far end of the market, artists, designers, and craftspeople sell everything from blown glass, photography, handmade clothing items, unique jewelry, and natural soaps and lotions. Musicians line the street, imparting a lively, melodic atmosphere to what is a weekly family outing for many market-goers.

Downtown Campbell is an idyllic location for this weekly plethora of fresh food, fruit, and flowers. There are multiple coffee shops, fantastic restaurants, bakeries, and unique boutiques and ample free parking is available in multiple areas. Dogs are not allowed with the exception of registered service animals. Campbell’s Farmers Market is part of the Urban Village Farmers Market Association, which holds ten markets every week in the East and South Bay communities.

So much more enjoyable than a trip to the grocery store, we encourage you to add the Campbell Farmers Market to your weekend plans. Bring the kids (but not the furry ones). Enjoy the live music. Chat with the farmers. Meet friends for breakfast or lunch. Stop, shop, and sample. Then head home with a beautiful rainbow of fruits and veggies.
