Campbell Real Estate and the Community of Campbell, CA
Dawn’s intimate knowledge of the community makes her an expert in Campbell Real Estate!
Like much of Silicon Valley, the town of Campbell is rooted in agriculture. Though often overshadowed by neighboring Los Gatos, the Orchard City is proud to have been voted #13 among the Best Places to Live in Santa Clara County while also receiving runner up accolades in Sunset’s 2016 “The West’s Best Places to Live,” (though residents would beg to differ about the runner-up status!) Approximately 43,000 people call Campbell home, drawn to this sweet spot that beautifully blends tradition with progress. Not a significant technology hub, Campbell can brag about being the birthplace of the pioneering ecommerce company, eBay, founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist, Pierre Omidyar. Residents of this Bay Area gem enjoy a welcoming, inclusive community filled with culture and camaraderie, making Campbell real estate deserving of its “Best Place to Live” designation.
Campbell is situated in the West Valley area of Santa Clara County, bookended by Los Gatos to its North and San Jose to the South. This city with a small town feel sure has a lot to offer within its tight-knit 6 ½ square miles. The Community Center is a local recreational hub where families come to enjoy its skate park, track, swimming pool, fitness center, summer camps, plus an on-going assortment of classes and workshops that appeal to all ages. No matter the season, Campbell-ites bike, jog, walk, and skate along the peaceful paved pathways of Los Gatos Creek Trail and many fish in the nearby perk ponds. Jack Fischer Park, Campbell Park, and John D. Morgan Park are among the nine public parks, all big draws for families with young children in large part because of their fantastic playgrounds, water features, and picnic-worth lawns. Dogs are not forgotten in Campbell. They, too, have a dedicated fenced-in park with room to roam, run, and raise a ruckus. The Orchard City is just 45-minutes from the beaches of Santa Cruz and Capitola, less than half an hour from a myriad of local wineries, and about an hour from San Francisco.
With all it offers, Campbell itself has become a destination of sorts. The vibrant downtown offers a diversity of dining options, specialty boutiques, bustling coffee shops, and lively nightlife. The revitalized Pruneyard Shopping Center boasts a state-of-the-art dine-in cinema along with numerous retail stores and eateries, including two restaurants who’s chefs have received Michelin Bib Gourmand accolades. The town’s award-winning Oktoberfest and Boogie-Campbell’s Music Festival draw well over 100,000 people to its historic downtown to “boogie” in the streets to live music, devour authentic German food and beer, and peruse hundreds of booths offering handcrafted wares. Adding to Campbell’s small town charm are its annual community traditions, the Carol of Lights and Bunnies & Bonnets Parade, where residents and visitors can throw snowballs, “ooo and aah” at holiday lights, or fill their baskets to bursting with Easter eggs. Looking for culture? The magnificently restored 1930’s Heritage Theatre offers an incredible line up of concerts, musicals, and plays each season while the Campbell Historical Museum and Ainsley House take visitors back in time. And every Sunday, Campbell Avenue is a bustling outdoor bazaar lined with vendors selling fresh produce and flowers, artisan cheeses, breads, and meats at the city’s Farmers Market – consistently voted one of the South Bay’s best.
