What in the world is a “Dishdash”?
A. A relay race involving crockery – not yet ready for the Olympics?
B. A long one-piece tunic worn in the Middle East?
C. A fabulous restaurant tucked away in Sunnyvale?
In this case – the right answers are B AND C.
Dishdash is a fabulous Mediterranean restaurant located at 190 S. Murphy Street in Sunnyvale. It takes its name from the dishdash – a traditional Middle Eastern piece of clothing that symbolizes warmth and relaxation. Like the name and meaning imply, Dishdash welcomes diners for a comfortable meal.
The menu at Dishdash borrows from culinary traditions across the Middle East – with selections that will delight just about anyone – from the hard core meat lover to the vegetarian. Traditional dishes include falafel, hummus, and an impressive selection of grilled kebabs. Beyond that are many other dishes you may have never had a chance to try!
The only challenge at this restaurant is that it can be very crowded. Our secret is to go for a late lunch or early dinner.
